Statement of Class Policies

Disks/Software:

Computer viruses can cause a great deal of damage to computer systems. Because of this, we do not permit disks to be brought in from outside the classroom, or disks to be removed from the classroom. You are not allowed to FTP files from home or another computer.

You are not allowed to bring software from home, download or install any programs on systems in the lab.

Giving copies of Commercial Software (i.e. MS Office, Macromedia Suite, Photoshop) is against the law and is not permitted in the classroom.

You are not allowed to customize the systems.  Do not create shortcuts or alter menus or the desktops in anyway.

Attendance:

There is a student sign-in sheet located on the reception desk; it is very important that you check in for each hour you are in class. The instructor will explain the check in procedure during orientation.

Students are allowed a total of three absences during the nine-week enrollment. Leaving class more than ten minutes early or arriving more than ten minutes late is considered a partial absence. Three partial absences equal one full absence. If a student uses all of his/her absences, they will be dropped on the next absence. (Example: absent 3 times, dropped on the 4th absence.)  Time lost can not be made up, there are no course extensions.

Students who are going to be late or cannot attend class must call the classroom (925-609-7108) at the beginning of class time. Students who leave class early must let us know when they are leaving. If a student does not call in when absent, a "no call" is recorded. Students who do not call in during their enrollment may automatically be dropped from the program.

Food/Drink:

Food, drink, and/or gum are not allowed at the workstations.  Please leave snacks and beverages at the table located in the front of the classroom.  The only consumable item allowed at workstations is breath mints.

Other:

Students are not allowed to use or remove/use anything from teachers’ work areas. Cell phones and Pagers must be set to "silent" during class.

Because these Class, Computer Use and Internet Policies are vital to the security, management, and funding of our classes, non-compliance with any of these policies could result in the student being dropped immediately from the class.  Future enrollment in other ROP classes may also be jeopardized.

I have read, understand, and agree to follow the ROP Policy statements contained on this page.
